Diabetes Outreach and Nutritional Outpatient Services | Artesia General Hospital
The Diabetes Outreach and Nutritional Outpatient Services provide education to various target groups in Eddy County and surrounding areas. Information is provided to community groups and through one-on-one discussions. Community awareness, education and screening of diabetes is important for helping area residents learn to manage the disease.
Initial assessments and follow-ups visits provide information about diabetes, monitoring blood glucose levels, individual food plans, dietary and exercise information, stress management and any other topics that provide self-care and management of specific area of need.
The Diabetes Outreach Program and Nutritional Outpatient Services have developed a provider referral system that coordinates in Eddy County and surrounding areas to ensure that all patients and residents will have access to medical nutritional therapy as well as any other health needs that may need attention.
